HERBS FOR CANCER TREATMENT: ALFALFA, BRAHMI AND COLCHICUM

Posted on Dec 23, 2010 under Herbal | No Comment

Alfalfa (Medico Satina)
Alfalfa is one the most nutritionally versatile herbs discovered so far. The Arabs who discovered it, called it the “King of kings” of plants and the “Father of all foods”. The Persians knew it as one of the nature’s most healing grasses. This herb is a valuable source of vitamins A, B, D, E and G. It also has some vitamin С and K. Of special value in alfalfa, is the rich quality, quantity and proper balance of various minerals, which are very much needed for the proper functioning of the different organs of the body.
Alfalfa is an outstanding alkaline food, which makes it a valuable remedy for cancer as it detoxifies the body. These seeds, known as king of sprouts, are very valuable in building up the immune system, for healing cancer, especially stomach cancer and other diseases.

Brahmi (Herpestis monniera or Bасоpa monniera)
Brahmi, a well known Indian herb can be used as a valuable aid in cancer treatment. This herb increases vitality, strengthens mental faculties and various organs of the body. It thus helps to fight diseases, including cancer. It has been mentioned in the ancient Indian Medical treatise Charak Samhita, that this herb cures all kinds of diseases.

Colchicum (Colchicum luteum)
The herb Colchicum (Hirantutiya) is a medicine of great repute in Afghanistan and northern India. The medicinal properties of this herb were well known even to the Arabs. The chief constituent of this herb is colchicine, an alkaloid which occurs in the form of yellow flakes, crystals or as whitish yellow amorphous powder. The effect of this alkaloid has been tested on cancerous tissues and it has been found that the drug arrests division of cells of the cancerous tissues and also makes them more susceptible to X-ray treatments. Further experiments are, however, being conducted in various laboratories to find out its efficacy in the treatment of cancers.

WHERE TO FIND PEACE – SICKNESS

Posted on Apr 09, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

Somehow you may feel weak, possibly even ill, and you ask yourself whether the noise, the hustle and bustle, the restlessness of our world have contributed to your condition. Does sickness make sense at all? Is it part of the purpose of life? There is something in you that just cannot accept the idea of sickness being inevitable. Was there not a man in antiquity who also could not accept it, doubting that sickness served a sensible purpose?

Slowly you walk to your study, still turning these thoughts over in your mind and, without prompting, you reach for a book on the shelf, the book that tells you about Job and his painful disease. Your room is quiet too. Nothing disturbs your meditation, and your reading tells you that the man Job was able to prove his devotion and integrity to God despite his suffering.

You put the book back on the shelf and now turn your eye to the pictures of your parents and grandparents that look at you from their places on the wall. They have been hanging there for years but never before have you noticed their calm, benign expressions.

CONCRETE STRUCTURES AND THEIR DANGERS – GENERAL INFORMATION

Posted on Apr 09, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

A humid home with little sun can damage your health just as much as a concrete building. We often calculate incorrectly, economising on the wrong things, for what good does it do us to pay less rent if we have to pay more than what we save on doctor’s fees and medicines! Pain and psychological suffering can also be avoided if, when deciding where to live, we consider not only the cost but also the possible effect on our health. Living in a healthy home is of greater value than having modern conveniences and should take priority. Unfortunately, neither the authorities nor the individual are sufficiently interested in solving the question of housing from the standpoint of health. How people’s health would benefit from this knowledge if those in positions of responsibility could be moved to transfer a few million from the military budget to that of health. Such a humane action would definitely be worthwhile, especially if some of the money were to be used to improve the housing conditions in the poorer sections of our towns and cities, where there is little sun and where insect pests, even rats and mice, can still contribute to the transmission of infectious diseases. It would be most appropriate if every country had an effective programme for healthy housing as one of its main targets.

MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS – NO LIFE WITHOUT IODINE

Posted on Apr 09, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

I once read a fairy story about a prince who was never happy, and nothing seemed able to relieve his melancholy. Finally, the king prepared a feast to which he invited princes from all over the world. The guests enjoyed themselves, dancing and applauding the amusing performances of the entertainers and jesters, as it was the custom at court in those days. Although most of the people present gave way to laughter and merriment, our prince remained indifferent and sad. When the king promised a large reward to anyone who could make his son happy, a goatherd from high up in the Alps came forward. He had noticed how frisky and playful the chamois became whenever they licked at a certain area of the rock where salt deposits were located. So he had scraped some off and brought it along, thinking that it might bring good luck to the prince and himself. He gave some to the prince, who made a face as he put it in his mouth, but then slowly began to liven up and join in the fun. His disposition was improved and he felt happy once again. Were this story true, five millionths of a gram of iodine could have performed the same miracle.

WHOLE WHEAT AND OTHER CEREALS – GERMINATED CEREALS – AN INEXPENSIVE TONIC 2

Posted on Apr 09, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

As soon as germination takes place, the enzyme diastase becomes active and transforms the polysaccharide starch into disaccharide sugar, or malt, which is easier to digest than starch. This process, by the way, is used to turn barley into malt. If you chew the germinated grain you will notice its sweet taste. This fresh ‘malt’ is rich in enzymes, especially diastase, and this is what makes it such a wonderful tonic food. It can be eaten together with linseed as is done in Sweden, where the dish is called kruska. It aids the digestion of other starchy foods and is recommended for those who have poor assimilation and have trouble gaining weight. It is a simple, inexpensive and excellent tonic food and is also good for the blood. If, at the same time, you eat plenty of raw carrots or drink fresh carrot juice, perhaps going on a grape diet as well, you will be able to build up your strength without having to pay a fortune. Together with plenty of grapes or fresh grape juice, this diet is recommended for people with heart trouble. Anyone suffering from constipation should avoid the skin and pips of the grapes. The advice also holds true for those who tend to suffer from fermentation and flatulence, since not eating the skin and pips prevents these intestinal problems.

Good results with germinated wheat encouraged Dr Bircher-Benner to recommend it to his patients too.

VITAMINS – VITAMIN Â COMPLEX (GENERAL INFORMATION)

Posted on Apr 09, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

The vitamin  complex is essential to enable the cells of the nervous system to take up oxygen. The primary and best remedy available in biological medicine for the treatment of painful inflammation of the nerves, as well as for strengthening the entire nervous system, is a steady supply of vitamin B. It is also a reliable help for those who suffer from poor stomach and bowel action and the lack of appetite connected with these disorders. If taken in greater amounts, vitamin  will often relieve disturbances during pregnancy. In cases of circulatory disorders and heart trouble and prescribed natural remedies will act faster and better if vitamin  is taken at the same time. In the past, explorers on arctic and Himalayan expeditions took along supplies of yeast extract for the sake of its concentrated nutrients and, not least, its sufficient amounts of vitamin B.

Today we have a fine supplement in Herbaforce because of its content of cultured yeast extract and fresh plant extracts. It is very tasty and most suitable as a sandwich spread, for snacks and food for journeys. It enhances salad dressings and is a splendid flavouring for soups, stews and other dishes.

THE PANCREAS – EVENING MEAL (SUPPER); INTRODUCING VARIETY

Posted on Apr 07, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

You would do well to eat only a light meal at night. For this reason, follow the suggestions given for breakfast. For a change, you might try the following:

Vegetable or sesame soup; a vegetable baked in the oven or steamed tomatoes; and a small plate of mixed salad or raw natural sauerkraut.

You must provide for a little variety, however, so that the diet does not become monotonous and one tires of it. This can be achieved by varying the combination of the items mentioned or varying their preparation. If loving hands prepare the food, it is always possible to find new ways of presenting it. For instance, diet pasta for diabetics can be used instead of soya mixes, bran mixes or sesame dishes.

Horseradish and cress have a healing effect on the pancreas and should be used as often as possible. From time to time, mix in a little finely chopped mugwort, another herb which has a beneficial effect on the pancreas. Diabetics can also use onions to season their food. Another good seasoning is yeast extract. Spread Herbaforce extremely thinly on bread and cover with onion slices. This is excellent for the pancreas because it includes both yeast and onion. A word of advice for diabetics is to make a conscious effort to eat slowly, to chew everything well and insalivate properly. This will help to utilise the food more effectively and to satisfy one’s hunger more quickly. Even though the diabetic has a greater craving for food, it is not advisable to eat too much, since the excess will only place a greater demand on the digestive system. For this reason it is extremely important that the patient eats only natural wholefoods that are rich in nutrients.

TAPEWORMS – CONCLUSION

Posted on Apr 07, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

A word of caution is required at this point. The expelled tapeworm must under no circumstances be thrown on the compost heap but should be burned or buried deep in the ground.

Finally, if no treatment whatsoever is able to shift the worm, there is yet another remedy that has been successfully used in Africa, namely the roor of the pomegranate tree. One teaspoonful of this root in powder form should be taken in a little warm water every morning and evening. Alternatively, a tea can be made by boiling the root, in which case two cups should be taken daily.

A TYPICAL DAILY PROGRAMME – VITAMIN PREPARATIONS

Posted on Apr 07, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

In recent times, artificial vitamin preparations have been strongly promoted by their manufacturers; before that, mineral salts ruled the scene. Fortunately, far-sighted researchers like Dr Schuessler and Dr Hahnemann found that the body requires various minerals only in minute amounts and that they can only be assimilated in triturated form, that is, ground into a fine powder.

At one time it was believed that gold could be made artificially; indeed, alchemists even tried to make an artificial man, a so-called ‘homunculus’, in their laboratories. Our age has become less ambitious in that it has merely attempted to produce a tablet or pill which contains all the nutrients the body requires and thus would make artificial nutrition possible, replacing our usual way

of feeding. But even these efforts have been abandoned and now only elicit a smile. Before too long, synthetic vitamins will also go the same way, since they can never replace or equal those forces the Creator has put into plants, our natural food source. A return to these natural principles will prove much more profitable than all the theories the human mind has ever conceived. In this way, the natural way, the problems of obesity, thinness and metabolic disorders will be solved much more effectively.

INFLAMMATION OF THE TESTICLES (ORCHITIS)

Posted on Apr 07, 2009 under Herbal | No Comment

Inflammation of the testicles (orchitis) is a fairly prevalent condition yet its treatment tends to be neglected because embarrassment makes the patient reluctant to see a doctor. For this reason I would like to explain the causes and treatment of this inflammation. To begin with, never ignore this condition hoping it may correct itself. By simply trying to forget the inflammation and not caring for it properly you may invite infertility later, which can result in serious psychological problems, especially for younger men.

Orchitis is generally caused by germs that are carried in the bloodstream. They need not be of the venereal type, however; in fact, tuberculosis of another organ could be responsible for orchitis. A complication of mumps or some other infectious disease may also be the cause and the resulting inflammation can be painfully awkward for young men. Obviously, then, the correct treatment of the basic problem is called for.

For internal use, massive doses of Echinaforce have proved successful in cases like this. Take 10-20 drops every hour. During the night, apply a mudpack to the inflamed area. In order to increase its healing power and to keep the paste from drying out and breaking up, mix it with horsetail tea and a tablespoon of St John’s wort oil. A helpful alternative is a poultice made from crushed cabbage leaves. However, if the cabbage increases the soreness, stop using it and revert to the mudpacks, which are always soothing. Finally it is important to keep the bowels open. These suggestions will work if you follow them conscientiously.
